Cossington Street Sports Centre Gym refurbishment works from 20 February – Heart Smart sessions

With effect from Thursday 20th of February 2020, the gym at Cossington Street Sports Centre will under go refurbishment lasting several months. The investment of more than £2 million will also include Evington and Aylestone Leisure Centres. With this investment, Leicester City Council are aiming to meet the needs of the local community by expanding the space within our centres and creating more opportunities for local people to come together and get more active.
How will this effect me ?
Please note that whilst the gym facilities are closed during this period, the swimming pool and sauna will remain open. The centre’s sports hall will be permanently closed as we make room for the expanded gym and studio space. We have 6 other gyms across the city and if you already have a Active Leicester gym membership you can access any of these other centres.
Cardiac patients who attend Heart Smart sessions at Cossington Street Sports Centre are able to attend the sessions at Aylestone, Braunstone, New Parks and Spence Street Leisure Centres during the closure of Cossington Street. Those attending Heart Smart Plus can also access these sessions in Aylestone, Braunstone, New Parks and Spence Street Leisure Centres’ during this time.
